The Evening Party
If you want to dance, do not book a band without drums!
Try not to let your personal preferences take over! Remember that you guests may range in ages from toddlers though to octogenarians.
TIMING:
- Evening Parties usually start after 7:30pm.
- Some bands cannot start earlier than 7:30pm
- Wedding receptions often run late. Allow adequate time between end of reception and start of party.
- Most (but not all) party bands can play background music if your reception overruns.
- Many hotels do not allow music after midnight.
- Many (not all) bands charge extra for ending after midnight.
NOISE:
- None of our bands over-amplify the music so you will not end up shouting at the top of your voice to be heard!

- We are happy to connect up to any sound limiting devices because we are confident that we wild never trigger one!
MUSIC & PROGRAMMES:
- The "First Dance" isn't always the very first dance to be played. It's often the case that the bride and groom are otherwise occupied when we start to play so the official "First Dance" can be at any point in the programme
- Sometimes we are asked to play a special number that isn't on our playlists. The Mad Hatter Band can arrange "specials" but this is subject to a minimum of four weeks notice and we may have to charge extra if the music is so specialised that we would never play it again (in the normal course of events).
SETTING-UP:
- Bands suitable for dancing take about half an hour to set up
- Larger bands can take over an hour to set up
- Sometimes a band can set up ready to play in the afternoon (or even in the morning) but this is unusual and applies only to larger bands (six-piece and up)
